San Diego Golf Academy Instructor Leads by Example

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) June 21, 2008 -- San Diego Golf Academy golf instructor Rod Perry set a good example for SDGA golf school (http://www.sdga.edu/golf_school_locations.php) students with his recent qualifying scores at the 2008 U.S. Open. Perry became a Medalist at the local qualifier at the Hammock Dunes Club, shooting 68 on May 12, 2008, and he earned the Second Alternate title on June 2, 2008 after coming up short on the second hole of the playoff, shooting 72 and 69, totaling 141.

"As our day-to-day work involves giving our students the most advanced golf instructions available today, we are very proud when our own instructors make news in the industry," says Brad Turner, director of the SDGA Orlando Campus. "In addition to teaching golf business, one of our goals is to take our students' golf skills to the next level, and we hire the very best to teach them."

The U.S. Open, first played in October 1895, is today considered one of the most difficult tournaments in the world. Since its formation in 1894, the United States Golf Association (USGA) has served as the national governing body of golf for the United States and Mexico. USGA is a non-profit organization run by golfers and they sponsor 13 national championships each year. For more information on USGA, please visit http://www.usga.org .

Founded in 1974, SDGA offers a 16-month program of golf instruction (http://www.sdga.edu/golf_tips.php) and golf business management at four campus locations in major golf markets -- Phoenix, Myrtle Beach, Orlando and San Diego. The curriculum is designed to provide graduates with the education required to get the golf jobs (http://www.sdga.edu/nNewsDetails.php?id=1642&type=GA) they desire. The SDGA is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) and by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), a national advocate and institutional voice for self-regulation of academic quality through accreditation.
